Dear Beloved Community,
Hello, it’s Angie Woods here. I wanted to take a moment to share a bit more of my personal journey with all of you, my cherished community, so you can truly understand the heart and soul behind this blog.
From the bustling streets of Atlanta to the peaceful corners of Dog World Japan, my journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Over the years, I’ve been blessed to establish myself as America’s premier canine behavior expert. Some of you might know me as the driving force behind U.S. Canine or as the co-founder of the innovative dog personality test, Dogenality. But there’s so much more to my story than just my professional achievements.
Growing up, I faced the challenge of being a debilitated stutterer. This, combined with the constant moving and attending 10 different schools, could have easily made me retreat into a shell of fear and anxiety. But life’s adversities, including being thrust into the federal witness protection program as a teenager and facing family tragedies, only fueled my determination. The adversities I faced, from my father’s life in crime to my mother’s battle with addiction and the heart-wrenching loss of my entire immediate family within a short span, could have easily shattered me. But, as I often jest, “It took me until I was 40 to grow up.” And when I finally did, I emerged stronger, wiser, and with a renewed sense of purpose.
The experiences of my childhood, especially the stuttering and constant moving, presented me with a choice: to be consumed by fear and anxiety or to rise above and become a badass. I chose the latter.
My approach to dog behavior is deeply rooted in my personal experiences. I believe that to truly understand sanity, one must first experience chaos. That’s why my classes at Dog Psychology 101 are not just about training dogs. They’re transformative sessions that offer profound life lessons. I always encourage everyone to “Come learn to be the leader that your dog dreamed you would be.”
Beyond my passion for canines, I’m an ardent martial arts enthusiast. I’ve always believed in the power of self-defense and living with the spirit of a warrior. My life’s mission is straightforward yet deeply meaningful: to guide others in finding their strength, just as I found mine.
In this ever-evolving world, I stand as a testament to the power of determination, resilience, and a touch of “general badassery.” I believe that with the right mindset, anyone can turn their life around.
With the creation of AngieWoods.Blog, I wanted to carve out a space where I could share more of my interests and passions with all of you. Nothing is off the table here. I’m excited to share everything I love, and I genuinely hope you’ll join in, discover new things, and most importantly, embrace your inner “Badass.” I fondly refer to this spirit as being a “Sheepdog.”
Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. I look forward to our shared stories, learnings, and the many adventures ahead.
With all my love,
Angie Woods
